This laboratory deals with studies on research and development of base isolation systems and vibration control systems.
Many earthquakes have been occurred in Japan, and various technologies against earthquakes are developed. Base isolation system that isolates the ground and a building or equipment by inserting isolation devices is one of effective techniques to reduce damage from earthquakes. Vibration control system using dampers and so on is also an effective technique.
Studies regarding elevators and escalators are other topics of our laboratory.
We always use them, but they are composite facilities among mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering and so on. In addition, safety of passengers should be ensured.
